Buying into the Belcoro® advantage

If you need another good reason for choosing Fruit of the Loom T-shirts and Sweats, then here it is, in one word: ‘Belcoro®’. In 2010, our Ts and Sweats that are made in-house, at our plant in Morocco, will be manufactured using industry-recognised Belcoro® yarns.
So what does that mean for Fruit of the Loom customers? In short: better quality garments – guaranteed.
Belcoro® is a worldwide quality standard for yarns that have been spun on an Autocoro rotor spinning machine equipped with Belcoro spinning components, and for the garments knitted from these yarns. Yarns and textiles that are examined by the Oerlikon Schlafhorst TexLab textile laboratory and judged to meet the Belcoro quality standard criteria are granted the Belcoro seal of quality.
Compared with ordinary yarns, the quality-assured Belcoro® yarns are quantifiably softer, smoother and deliver a much cleaner printing process. So Fruit of the Loom T-shirts and Sweats will be softer to touch and give superior quality print results. It’s yet another reason why Fruit of the Loom remains Europe’s number one activewear brand.
If you’re interested to learn more about Belcoro® yarns, and how they are helping Fruit of the Loom to produce better quality garments, contact our marketing department: marketing.imprint@ftlte.fruit.com

Growing the Valueweight T family

Three Valueweight Ts lead our new product development for 2010, and are joined by the new Heavy Pocket T and Lady-Fit Jog Pants. Each style responds directly to customer requests and market trends.
Made from tight knit 100% cotton (160/165 gm/m2), and including options for men, women and children, the Valueweight T family provides the best value promowear available for volume requirements. With the launch of the three new styles, we’re confident that ‘the best just got better!’
Designed for more fashion-conscious men, the new Fitted Valueweight T is ideal for promotions, retail applications, tourism and the music industry. It has a shorter body length and side seams for a slimmer fit. Details include the narrow neckline without topstitching, and cotton/Lycra® rib crew neck with taping. Choose from sizes S-XXL, and Black, Charcoal, Classic Olive, Deep Navy, Orange, Red, Royal Blue, and White colours.
The Girls Valueweight T was inspired by the growing demand for gender-specific children’s wear. It has shorter sleeves, a smaller cotton/Lycra® rib crew neck, and side seams with waist shaping. Perfect for licensing, tourism, sports clubs, schoolwear and in retail, it comes in sizes 3-4 to 14-15 years and eight colours: Black, Deep Navy, Light Pink, Red, Royal Blue, Sky Blue, Sunflower, and White.
The Kids Long Sleeve Valueweight T fills an important niche in the Valueweight T family, providing sports clubs, teams and schools with a children’s version of the adults’ long sleeve style. An important selling point is its cotton/Lycra® rib cuffs, which allow the set-in sleeves to be worn pushed up. The new Kids style is available in sizes 3-4 to 14-15 years, and Black, Deep Navy, Red, Royal Blue, and White colours.
The Heavy Pocket T uses the same 100% cotton fabric, (185/195 gm/m2), as the popular Heavy Cotton T. Its self-fabric pocket and heavyweight fabric make it a clear favourite for workwear. The shirt is finished with a rib crew neck with taping and comes in sizes S-XXL, and five colours: Black, Navy, Red, Royal Blue, White.
All of the new T-shirts are knitted from 100% cotton Belcoro® certified yarns, which are spun in-house, at our state of the art Moroccan factory. The quality-assured yarns give the T-shirts a noticeably softer feel and cleaner print surface.
Completing the new product launches are the Lady-Fit Jog Pants. Redesigned in unbrushed 75% cotton/25% polyester (280 gm/m2) fabric, they feel lighter, softer and more comfortable to wear, and exhibit superior drape. Great for sports clubs and associations, gyms and leisurewear, they feature a deep, 2×1 rib waistband with self-coloured herringbone draw cord, and open cuffs with twin needle stitching detail on the hem. Choose from sizes XS-XL, and three colours: Black, Deep Navy, White.

Keeping it Simple in 2010

Keeping it Simple 2010, our inspirational new catalogue, is available to order (or download) from our website now.
Themed on life’s simple pleasures, (gardening, an afternoon’s fishing, playtime in the woods…), the catalogue underlines our straightforward approach to customer satisfaction. We like to concentrate on the things that really matter: consistent quality, reliable service, plenty of choice and good value, all from a brand you can trust. It’s an approach we’ve refined over more than 150 years.
Uncluttered layouts focus attention on the relaxed lifestyle photography, and present full details for each of the 81 styles in our 2010 activewear collection. Captioned ‘Polaroids’ highlight specific products and core brand values, while ‘message stamps’ sum up the reasons why people continue to love and trust the Fruit of the Loom brand.
The catalogue is exceptionally user friendly. Organised into logical sections – Mens, Ladies, Kids, Shirts, and Organic Cotton T’s – it includes handy Colour, Size and Style Guides to aid speedy product searches.
In keeping with our environmentally responsible ethos, the catalogue is printed on FSC-certified recycled paper. We’ve also used a more compact format this year, which uses less paper and reduces postage costs. For those that wish to be even more environmentally friendly, the e-catalogue version can be downloaded to your desktop or forwarded directly from our website to your customers.
The catalogue is published in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Finnish languages.

Welcome to our new-look website

It’s all change at www.fruitoftheloom.eu, where we are welcoming in the New Year with a new look and a host of new, user-friendly online features.
The emphasis is on ‘quick and easy’. So as well as changing the appearance of the site, we’ve introduced a more efficient navigation system. This will help you to get to where you want to go, faster. For instance, links to the various product ranges – Mens, Ladies, Kids etcetera – are now found across the top of the Home page for instant selection. They appear at the top of all product pages also, making it a simple matter to move between different ranges from any page.
The new-look website features our latest photography and showcases the entire Fruit of the Loom activewear collection for 2010. The product pages have a clean, fresh look, and contain a wealth of essential garment information. It is possible to zoom in on any photograph at the click of a button and then scroll around using your mouse or trackpad. It is equally straightforward to select alternative views – you can select a catalogue lifestyle shot, or a product shot in any of the available colours.
Low-res images, (along with full spec sheets), also can now be downloaded directly off the relevant product page, rather than having to visit the Marketing Support area. A useful ‘Related Items’ feature provides a quick link to complementary styles – for example, the long sleeve version of a T-shirt or a matching Lady-Fit style.
On the Home page, there is the option to ‘Add Your Own Logo’: clicking on the link opens a separate window that includes step-by-step instructions for uploading a logo or design to produce a virtual sample garment.
We’ve also provided a link from the Home page to the Keeping it Simple 2010 virtual brochure, plus a link to the Fruit Code – our code of ethics. You can download a copy of the Fruit Code from the page, along with an Oeko-Tex certificate, for presentation in your sales room or to your clients.
The new site design is just the beginning, however; we aim to introduce ongoing improvements and add further features throughout 2010. One of the first will be the Marketing Club feature. This will be a far more user-friendly replacement for the old Marketing Support function, and will include many more features. We’ll also be updating our News sections regularly, keeping you up to date with everything that’s happening at Fruit of the Loom, and we’ll be launching the Fruit of the Loom blog.
So what are you waiting for? Visit www.fruitoftheloom.eu today to see the changes we‘ve made already. Then add us to your bookmark folder and return regularly to make the most of the new features we’ll be putting at your disposal.

School’s out for Summer

Well ok, not yet, but now is the time to start contacting colleges and universities to discuss their requirements for the summer. School trips often need t-shirts, hooded sweats signed by the year group are popular end of year souvenirs and summer sports clubs might need teamwear. To make the most of these opportunities, take a look at our College wear micro-site or email us to request printed copies of the brochure.
